Claudia Haberstroh, Director Claudia is currently employed by K. Hovnanian Homes and works as a Community Assistant for the Community Builder. She has been involved with the pageant industry for the past 15 years as a director and pageant mom for her two daughters, Janise and Christina. Both her daughters have competed in the American Coed System for the past 8 years and have won several awards. Claudia has been married for the past 25 years to her husband, Richard. Claudia loves being a director and being involved with all aspects of the pageant industry. Janise Kimberly Thomson, Director Janise has been involved in American Coed Pageants since 1998. She was crowned Miss NJ American Coed 2003 and then placed top ten at nationals as well as the 2004 National Actress Winner. Janise is a graduate of Ramapo College of NJ where she received her BA in Theater, as well as, her Teacher’s Certification in Elementary Education and High School Speech, Arts and Dramatics. Janise is currently a bilingual preschool teacher in Long Branch NJ. Janise is also a DJ for Elite Entertainment where she DJ’s and emcee’s weddings across the state of NJ. Janise is very excited to be running an American Coed Pageant. Jay Thomson, Assistant Director Born and raised on the Jersey Shore Jay has been entertaining audiences for over 15 years. With a Bachelors in Theatre from Ramapo College, his love for the arts have earned him a full-time profession. He has performed in many stage/musical productions over the years as well being the front man for numerous bands and duos. Now an emcee/singer for Elite Entertainment, Jay performs at over 140 plus events a year on the private and corporate level. Jay’s acting and singing have also won him numerous awards in talent shows, such as the Millie Lewis AMTC Soap-Opera winner 2001, the Miami Invitational over-all talent winner 2002, and Entertainer of the Year 2002 & 2005 with Elite Entertainment. Thrilled to be apart of The American Coed Pageants with his wife, Janise Thomson. Christina Haberstroh, Choreographer Christina has been involved with American Coed Pageants since 1998 winning numerous awards at both a state and National level. Her award-winning speeches and self choreographed tap numbers have led her to many titles and great opportunities. She currently holds the title of Miss New Jersey American Miss and is furthering a career through the Walt Disney Company. She will be returning to Florida in the fall as a communications major at the University of Central Florida. She hopes to one day use these experiences to land her a job working for ABC. Heidi Carlson, Choreographer Heidi Carlson has been part of the American Coed family since 1999 when she first competed in the New Jersey State pageant. Heidi resides in North Brunswick, New Jersey and is 25 years of age. She has studied gymnastics, ballet, and salsa. She did gymnastics competitively for 5 years and coached for 5 years. Heidi recently graduated with departmental honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. She is now applying for graduate school. Craig Haberstroh, Assistant Craig is an active 16 year old junior at Holmdel High School where he enjoys being a part of Basketball, Baseball, and other volunteer organizations. His future ambition is to become a stand-up comic or a cartoonist; but for now he loves to hang out with his friends and stay up –to- date with today’s pop culture. |
